The Boston New Music Initiative is pleased to announce its next performance at Ryles Jazz Club in Inman Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts on Thursday, October 31, 2013. The concert will begin at 8 pm, with a pre-concert talk scheduled to being fifteen minutes prior to the show.

All works on the program were selected from an organization-hosted international call for scores held late in 2012, and include the works of Linda Antas (Iridescence), Mike Barnett (Ask the Wind), Kyong Mee Choi (Tensile Strength), Charles Halka (Por Las Fuerzas Las Tierras), Sungji Hong (Bisbiglio), Ingrid Stölzel (The Road is All), and Dale Trumbore (Snow White Turns 60).

The works will be performed by BNMI's Chamber Ensemble: Deirdre Viau (flute), Yhasmin Valenzuela (clarinet), Valerie Ross (piano), Lilit Hartunian (violin), Christopher Homick (cello), percussionist Ana Lorenzo, and soprano Erin M. Smith. Ms. Smith has served as the organization's Artistic Director since its inception in 2009. The ensemble will be conducted by Associate Artistic Director Amy Fajardo.

"We are so excited to return to Ryles Jazz Club in Inman Square for our first local performance of the season," stated Ms. Smith.  "The casual atmosphere is the perfect place for newcomers to the new music scene to have a comfortable place to eat, drink, and enjoy music they've likely never heard before. This program has a little bit of everything: innovative electronic works, fun texts, lyrical melodies, and high-energy rhythms that will make you excited about how composers around the world are shaping music today."

Discounted advance tickets are available online. Full price tickets are available at the door the day of the show for $15.
